Abstract

Household waste management remains a significant environmental issue in rural areas, including The rapid development of digital technology has brought significant changes to various aspects of daily life, including parenting patterns and children’s behavior. One of the most noticeable technological developments is the use of mobile phones, which are now widely used not only by adults but also by children from early childhood to adolescence. In Lampihong Selatan Village, Lampihong District, Balangan Regency, the use of mobile phones among children has increased and is often not accompanied by adequate supervision and limitations from parents. This condition may lead to various problems, such as gadget addiction, decreased learning concentration, and reduced social interaction. Considering that childhood and adolescence are critical phases in physical, social, and emotional development, the role of parents is crucial in guiding children to use technology wisely. Therefore, this Community Service Program (KKN) was conducted to optimize the role of parents in supervising and limiting mobile phone use among children. The activity was carried out through socialization and interactive discussions with parents regarding the impacts of excessive mobile phone use and appropriate supervision strategies based on children’s age. The results of the activity showed an increase in parents’ awareness and understanding of the importance of guidance and limitation in mobile phone use to support optimal child development.
