Abstract

Household waste management remains a significant environmental issue in rural areas, including Tuhuran Village, Haur Gading District. Improperly managed waste has the potential to cause environmental pollution, health problems, and a decline in the quality of life of the community. Therefore, this community service activity was conducted to increase public awareness and participation in household waste management as an effort to create a healthy environment. The methods applied in this activity included socialization, education, and community assistance regarding the importance of waste management, the separation of organic and inorganic waste, and the implementation of environmentally friendly waste management practices. The activities were carried out through material presentations, discussions, and simple household-level waste management practices. The results showed an improvement in community understanding of the environmental and health impacts of waste, as well as the importance of active community involvement in household waste management. The community began to understand more effective and sustainable waste management practices. This activity plays an important role in supporting the creation of a clean, healthy, and comfortable village environment and serves as an initial step in building environmental awareness at the community level
