Abstract

Household waste management and low physical activity are crucial issues in rural areas. This community service program aims to integrate environmental conservation with improving public health in Harusan Telaga Village through two main programs: "Sampah Berkah" (Blessed Waste) and "BESTI" (Fit Together with Student Service). The "Sampah Berkah" program is designed to educate residents about the economic value of waste through a system of exchanging inorganic waste for valuable items or basic necessities. Simultaneously, the BESTI program is implemented to improve physical fitness through group exercise activities targeting groups of mothers. The implementation methods include interactive socialization, waste sorting activities, and sports mentoring. The results of the activity showed high enthusiasm with a total of 53 participants attending the main session. Through Sampah Berkah, communities have begun implementing waste sorting practices at home, while through BESTI, participants reported improved physical fitness and awareness of the importance of an active lifestyle. The integration of these two programs has successfully created a dual impact, resulting in a cleaner environment and a participatory improvement in residents' health index. This success demonstrates the effectiveness of a community-based approach and economic incentives in driving positive and sustainable behavior change in rural communities.
